Taxpayers footing the bill for outsourced NHS failings

Indemnity cover is of particular relevance to the UK's Independent Midwives (IMs), who cannot currently secure insurance and are practicing without it. Although the deadline has been moved forward to early 2014, all medical professionals will soon be compelled to attain indemnity cover, leaving the IMs in a precarious space as things currently stand.
