Michelmores welcomes Daniel Eames as Partner and head of the Family team

Michelmores has announced the appointment of Daniel Eames who joins the Firm as a Partner and to lead its award-winning Family team.

Daniel’s appointment will strengthen the Firm’s Family team (ranked Tier 1 by Legal 500 (South West) across its three offices, in London, Bristol and Exeter, supporting clients and families nationally and internationally.

He will also work closely with the Firm’s Private Wealth team, which supports individuals and international families, entrepreneurs, family and privately owned businesses across a variety of sectors.

Experienced in all aspects of family law, Daniel has specialist expertise in matters with an international aspect. He regularly advises on divorce proceedings with cross-border elements, including asset protection for high-net-worth clients, the resolution of financial disputes within married and cohabiting partnerships, and cases involving businesses and trusts.

Daniel chairs the International Committee of Resolution (the national organisation of family lawyers) and is a member of Lord Justice Moylan’s International Family Law Committee.

He has contributed to publications on international enforcement and Resolution’s online Guide to International Family Law. 

Daniel was the only solicitor to give evidence to the Justice Select Committee on how the UK’s departure from the EU will affect family law and is now advising the Government on this issue. Daniel is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

A trained Collaborative lawyer, Daniel has a strong reputation for out of court settlements but is equally at home litigating where this is required to protect his client’s interests.
