Luke Jenkins – Leaked Hospital Review
Documents not disclosed to coroner left anonymously with family
Several weeks after the inquest into Luke Jenkins' death concluded, a parcel containing leaked hospital documents has been delivered anonymously to the Jenkins household. Addressed in disguised handwriting, the source of the leak is unknown.
The parcel contained a divisional report from the University Hospitals Bristol Trust Women's and Children's services, from June 2013; this was a response to the Serious Incident Review Panel (SIRP) review several months earlier. The new documents are more critical of the Trust's handling of Luke's care than the SIRP report, and were not disclosed to the coroner.
At the inquest, no finding of gross care failures was made; a clinical negligence claim, which will look into issues of liability, is pending.
