After the Jenkins Inquest – Scrutinizing Robert Woolley

SW Whistleblowers Action Group Challenge Robert Woolley

The South West Whistleblowers Health Action Group (SWWHAG) has compiled an excellent analysis of the stance of Robert Woolley, Chief Executive of the University Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust, in the wake of the Luke Jenkins inquest.

At the inquest, the coroner found that there had been no gross failing of care in young Luke's case, prompting Mr Woolley to suggest that his was a safe Paediatric Cardiac unit.

Woolley's conclusion is out of keeping with the purpose of an inquest, which seeks neither to ascribe blame nor confirm blamelessness, and SWWHAG are unimpressed by his position.

The Jenkins family, represented by Michelmores' Laurence Vick, is proceeding with a clinical negligence claim, where issues of fault will be the focal point.
