Michelmores Employment Solicitors support Apprenticeship Week

Members of the Michelmores' Employment Team recently lent their support to the Duchy College's Apprenticeship Week Campaign, designed to educate employers in the South West on the benefits of growing their organisation through the use of apprenticeships.

James Baker and Tom Stenner-Evans took part in 5 seminars around Devon & Cornwall, during which local employers were given the opportunity to understand more about the College's apprenticeship programme and the legal implications of employing apprentices.

Tom Stenner-Evans, pictured above with Chris Shepherd, Operations Manager of the Training Agency of Duchy College, Claire Burgwin of Pipex px and members of the Moorskills Farming Project, commented that "these sessions held by the Duchy College were a great opportunity for local employers to consider alternative ways in which to expand and grow their businesses.  We were delighted to see how many businesses are interested in developing the next generation of workers".

Pipex px, a leading supplier and manufacturer of innovative composite and thermal-plastic products, were also present in support of the College's Apprenticeship Programme and, in particular, the Moorskills Farming Project which gives young people the opportunity to become involved in a dynamic and successful farming partnership on Dartmoor.  Pipex are an excellent example of a local business which fully supports the use of apprenticeships in the workplace, and Tom Stenner-Evans further commented that "with so many people out of employment in these difficult times, we need more employers like Pipex to step forward and help to train and employ the next generation of workers".
