Trustee training for charities
We run regular seminars for charity trustees to help them keep up to date with the ever changing legal environment and the practical impact of such changes.
In addition, we provide tailored training sessions at the charity's offices. The content of such training sessions will be tailored to your needs. Current topics include:
- governance and charity law - an overview of recent developments;
- trustee legal responsibilities;
- the Hallmarks of an Effective Charity;
- the impact of the Companies Act 2006;
- managing conflicts of interest;
- an introduction to charity law and governance for local authority staff
The Charities SORP requires the trustees' annual report to include information on the way new trustees are introduced to the charity and the training provided to all trustees. This presents a useful opportunity to bring trustees up to date.
