Sara acts on a wide range of commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, public procurement disputes, negligence claims, director/shareholder disputes and partnership disputes. The clients Sara advises include public bodies, charities, small to medium sized businesses and multi-national corporations. A lot of Sara's work has a cross border element and her current caseload includes disputes where one or more parties are based in Europe, Africa and Asia.
Recent work includes:
- Advising an equity investment firm on claims for alleged breaches of fiduciary duty and breach of confidence by company directors. The claim involved advising on the possibility of a derivative action and other potential shareholder remedies;
- Acting for one of the UK's leading specialists in composting and recycling in a contractual claim against one of its competitors;
- Representing a leading supplier of scientific equipment in disputes over payment with customers;
- Acting for a large grant funding organisation in various contractual claims to recover mis-spent grant monies;
- Advising one of the UK's largest growers of mushrooms in a contractual dispute over charging arrangements with one of its energy suppliers;
- Acting for a leading international satellite telecommunications company in numerous contractual claims with defendants in multiple jurisdictions across Europe, Africa and Asia; and
- Acting for an airport in relation to a debt recovery matter that involved taking liens over aircraft pursuant to the Civil Aviation Act.
Sara is also a member of the Leisure and Tourism Sector team.
