Powers of Attorney & Care of the Elderly

Granting a power of attorney means that decisions can be made on your behalf when you are unable to make them yourself whether through illness or perhaps during periods overseas.

An enduring Power of Attorney allows you to choose (while you are still mentally capable) who you wish to administer your affairs in the event of incapacity.

Michelmores can:

  • Accept powers of attorney
  • Advise on choice of attorney and joint attorneys including registration, administration and the level of authority invested in the appointed attorney(s)
  • Advise on mitigating the cost of nursing home care
  • Establish Trusts for dependant relatives
  • Advise Receivers appointed by the Court of Protection where there is no Enduring Power of Attorney
