Having retired as a partner in the firm in April 2011, Michael is now employed by Michelmores LLP as a solicitor in its public sector property team, the title 'Consultant' reflecting his status as a former partner.

With a background in property disputes, his main focus now is advisory work on property issues, including land rights and contracts, property development problems, landlord and tenant issues, and administrative law in property contexts.

In the course of his career Michael has acted for a broad range of property clients including private individuals, investors and developers, as well as public authorities such as government departments and agencies, and local and other authorities.

His recent work in the public authority sphere includes extensive involvement in the transfer of the magistrates' courts estate from local and other authorities to Ministers of the Crown under the Courts Act 2003.

Michael trained at McKenna & Co in London, where after admission as a solicitor in 1981 he became the property litigation partner in 1987 and joint Head of Property Litigation at Cameron McKenna in 1997 before joining Michelmores in 2000.
