Karen trained at Ashfords LLP in Exeter and qualified in 2008. Since that date Karen has practiced as an Insolvency Solicitor in Exeter before joining Michelmores in November 2011.

Karen deals with all types of restructuring and insolvency issues, including contentious and non contentious matters in personal and corporate insolvency contexts. Karen has particular expertise in advising in relation to antecedent transactions and directors' liabilities, but also advises in the sale and purchase of assets of insolvent businesses and all aspects of the responsibilities and duties of appointment holders.

Karen also brings to the restructuring team property experience, which she uses to advise where property issues arise in an insolvency context.
Karen is a member of the International Relations Sub-Committee for the Devon and Exeter Law Society and recently spoke on their behalf at an international conference in Verona on the subject of the English systems of debt recovery and insolvency.
