Ian Holyoak - Partner
Ian heads our Commercial team, which handles a diverse variety of contracts and transactions for business, including joint ventures, large-scale projects, outsourcing, domestic and international trade, investments and commercial security (including guarantees and bonds).
Ian's main practice areas include:
- Energy, particularly in the renewables sector
- Project finance
- EU and Competition law (including state aid)
- Public/private collaboration, including PPP structures
Ian also has extensive knowledge of corporate transactions more generally, including company and business sales and purchases, corporate structures, joint ventures, shareholder agreements and due diligence investigations. He is based in Exeter but works regularly from London and Bristol.
Ian joined Michelmores in 2003 having previously worked in the City and then as Head of Legal for a listed mining, minerals and chemicals company with global interests. He spends most of his leisure time persuading his knees that hockey, tennis, running and cycling remain 'enjoyable'.
