Festival run success for Michelmores

Just two months after organising their own charity road race in June, Michelmores Solicitors sponsored the notoriously tough Sidmouth Festival Run for the fourth successive year.

184 runners finished the celebrated race, which raises funds for cancer charity Force and features the stamina-sapping Peak Hill at the start of the 10 kilometre event.

All Michelmores' own team of six crossed the line at the finish despite the blistering heat.

The firm's senior partner Will Michelmore finished in 76th place, and he was followed by private client solicitor Sue Dowen (108th), Michelmores Sidmouth office managing partner Richard Hedger (130th), Property Group paralegal Alice Bastone (145th) and Jill Trivett from Sidmouth accounts (163rd).

The best finish, however, came from Michelmores' guest runner and marketing manager Louise Edwards' husband Rob, who finished in 31st place with a time of just over 48 minutes, just seven minutes adrift of the winner, Carl Prewer of Lowestoft Runners.

Richard Hedger, who handed out the prizes at the event, said: "Once again, Michelmores is delighted to sponsor this wonderful event and to support Sidmouth Running Club who do such a great job organising it.

"I'm very proud of my fellow Michelmores team mates for running in this tough competition. We all had a really super time and we're already looking forward to next year."
