Corporate Finance boost for Michelmores
Michelmores LLP, UK Regional Law Firm of the Year, has announced the arrival of Richard Cobb, one of the region's leading corporate finance lawyers, who has joined the firm's Business Group.
For the last seven years Richard has been a partner at Bond Pearce LLP, where he most recently led the top-ranked corporate finance team in Devon, having previously worked in London for 10 years at Olswang and as Head of Legal at a listed technology PLC.
Chambers and Partners 2009 regards Richard as being in the top tier of corporate lawyers in the region. His expertise covers AIM and Listed PLC clients, media and technology work and large corporate transactions and commercial contracts for local, national and international clients.
Stephen Morse, Head of Michelmores' Business Group, said: "Richard's outstanding reputation within the corporate finance community will boost our strong corporate capability, and will play a significant role in our strategic plans for growth going forward in London and Exeter."
Commenting on his appointment, Richard said: "Michelmores already stands out as having the most experienced and distinctive corporate offering in the region. I am thrilled at the opportunity to work with Stephen and the rest of the team to deliver an outstanding service to corporate and entrepreneurial clients."
The appointment follows closely on the heels of commercial litigator Rob Nicholson, who joined the firm as a partner in February, and brings the total number of partners to 43.
Michelmores' Business Group now has a total of 60 dedicated lawyers, including 17 partners. The Corporate Finance team is ranked in the top tier by the Legal 500 and deals with corporate deals, MBOs, private equity investments and commercial contracts. Partners Malcolm Dickinson, Stephen Morse, Mark Lewis, Samantha Billingham, Joe Whitfield and Richard Cobb have over 105 years of combined partner-level experience in corporate finance, with the backing of a growing and dedicated team of specialist lawyers and assistants.
