Anna Thompson - Solicitor
Anna trained at Michelmores and qualified in 2006. Initially, Anna was a member of the corporate team, advising on a range of matters including business sales and acquisitions, acting for banks in relation to funding and security packages, advising clients on fund raising from third parties, directors' liabilities issues, company secretarial advice and working with Michelmores' Property team advising on management company incorporation and administration.
Anna brings her corporate experience with her to the restructuring and insolvency team, where she advises on a range of issues arising on restructuring and formal and informal insolvency procedures, including:
- Assisting in the restructuring of listed company MICE Group PLC's £80m loan facility;
- Advising Nicholl group on corporate aspects of the restructuring of its £50m loan facilities;
- Advising both insolvency practitioners and company directors on issues arising from formal insolvency procedures;
- Acting for insolvency practitioners and purchasers in connection with the sale and purchase of both solvent and insolvent businesses; and
- Reviewing and reporting on of the validity and enforceability of lenders' security packages and the appointment of insolvency professionals (both for banks and insolvency practitioners).
